Experienced CDP position available for a passionate, driven and committed chef who wants to complete our team and create something unique, positive and long lasting in Melbourne’s favourite food destination in the Inner North

Based in Carlton North, the Kent Hotel offers diners an experience that embraces great service and innovative quality local produce. The kitchen is a great working environment and has a supportive team.

The role involves but is not limited to:

Help manage daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness and adherence to health and safety regulations
Provide support to the kitchen team motivating and guiding them to create a collaborative and high-performing work environment
Maintaining and managing high standards of cleanliness and food safety
Collaborate with the kitchen team to uphold consistent standards across all culinary areas
Maintaining consistently high standards of all food that is sent out and/or produced by the team
Food preparation and service
Training, upskilling and mentoring all team members

Ideal candidates must have:

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a chef in similar position or someone looking to step up
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Must have studied cookery
A strong desire to develop professionally
Composed and professional manner of work
Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
Exceptional eye for detail, particularly with cleanliness and food safety standards
