The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant for a full-time position based at our new Wattleup facility. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a diverse range of areas, providing financial management support across the business groups.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards under AASB/IFRS and taxation regulations. 
• Complete all month end task, eg. general journal, month end P&L review and analysis
• Closure of AR, AP, Inventory and GL at month end. 
• Monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Produce reports as requested by the Financial Controller. 
• Assist with budget and forecast process as directed by the Financial Controller.
• Assist with stock take to ensure inventory system is reconciled to physical stock on hand.
• Assist with preparation of Executive Management end of month and end of quarter presentation by providing financial information on power point slides.
• Provide transactional information for yearly tax pack as directed by Financial Controller.
• Provide timely assistance during both the internal and external audit process.
• Assists the Financial Controller with software change management.
• Reviews Procedures and Policies as required, provides improvement recommendations.
• Supports and assists all other finance team members with technical accounting or software queries.
• Effectively partners with all teams within the H-E Group by providing trouble shooting, technical and procedural advice.
• Other adhoc tasks and financial modeling

About you

• You must possess a university degree in a relevant discipline such as commerce or business with a major in accounting. CPA is desirable, but not essential.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal 
• Prior experience in heavy industry, mining or a manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with Pronto or other similar ERP system.
