Position Overview
This exciting opportunity sits within MyWay Travel & Events, part of the Helloworld Travel Group — specialising in premium travel and event packages. From the AFL Grand Final and Ashes Series to Formula 1, global concerts, and world-class theatre, MyWay puts customers at the heart of the world’s biggest events.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our Wholesale Business Systems team in South Melbourne.
Reporting to the Head of Technology Architecture – Wholesale Systems, you’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between business and technology. You’ll collaborate with developers, operations, and commercial teams to enhance MyWay’s digital platforms, improve customer experiences, and help deliver innovative new projects.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to capture and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and user stories.
- Support development and testing of new features and enhancements.
- Analyse data, workflows, and dependencies to identify improvement opportunities.
- Produce technical documentation and release notes.
- Facilitate smooth communication between technology, operations, and commercial teams.
- Contribute to planning, testing, and implementation of software improvements.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a natural problem solver with an eye for detail and a genuine passion for technology and travel.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- 2+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in the travel or technology sector.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and discovery practices.
- Experience with JIRA, MS SQL, and web services (JSON/XML).
- Familiarity with Global Distribution Systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport).
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
Bonus points for:
- Exposure to REST/XML APIs, DevOps or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with test automation or programming fundamentals.
- Understanding of event travel systems or tourism workflows.
